Weekend wonders

Mac and I started our weekend with a bang. We had a bunch of our friends over, drank a couple bottles of wine and more liquor than I thought, and danced till we dropped. Saturday morning was pretty relaxing. A couple people stayed the night, so we made a breakfast of bacon, coffee, and eggs.

After we had breakfast and saw everyone off, we took a drive down to see my parents for the first time in a few months. My mom made us some amazing food, starting with lamb and roasted carrots for dinner, then some Japanese egg pancakes for breakfast.

This morning, Mac and I went on a walk with a couple of my sisters. One thing about the area they live in is it’s full of artists. There were metal sculptures all over the city. Some of my favorites include these:

A Dream Takes Flight

After we looked at the sculptures, we decided to check out the local scenery. The city was beautiful. Very small, very easy to get lost in thought while walking through the suburban streets. Mac and I decided to go down to look at a couple of the local bridges.

We got some funny looks from the locals, but that’s because the bridges were, not unexpectedly, a common place for the local troublemakers to hang out.

We’re home now, safe and sound, and I have a feeling I won’t be going on any long drives in the near future. In the mean time, I’ll be looking around for things to do at home. Lord knows, getting out and having some fun would be good for me.
